Devised by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham (Klein Dytham architecture), Pecha Kucha Night was conceived in 2003 as a place for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public. Presently, Pecha Kucha Nights are held regularly in more than 220 cities all over the world.--------------------
This video shows the spirit at 3th Pecha Kucha Night held in Sofia (Bulgaria) on July 24th, 2009.
What we had? 12 architects, designers and artists showed their recent works and ideas or provoked the audience with their cool performances. From serious to really hilarious, the presentations were mix of static slides, animation, sound and even empty screens used from some as a background for a shadow theater.
In spite of the interesting programme, it was really difficult for the participants to restrain their impulse to jump into the pool right at the beginning, butafter the show their time came and we saw tens of people splashing into the water.
In this edition, we decided to boost the networking between the participants introducing something new: Art Badges. All the participants received almost empty badges, where except their names, there was an empty area, where they were invited to put a picture, drawing or a cool quote or slogan. The initiative resulted to a more than 60 really cool badges, which we have already posted in a dedicated internet gallery.
